Two Views of the Same Fretboard

The two necks contain the same pitch locations. The difference is what you're choosing to see.

Notes Across the Neck

The first fretboard shows the actual note names. E is the reference root, with every E location shown in red.

Intervals From E

The second fretboard replaces note names with their interval function relative to E, showing the neck as musical relationships rather than isolated notes.

How to Use the Fretboard Reference

01 — Start with the red E root notes and locate E across all six strings.

02 — Compare the same positions on both necks: note name above, interval function below.

03 — Connect those interval relationships to scales, chords, riffs and melodies you already play.

04 — Choose another root and move the same interval relationships to the new starting point.
