ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS
When enrolling for tuition with Alien Guitar Secrets, students, parents and guardians agree to the following terms of business. These terms help us manage lesson availability fairly and maintain a professional teaching schedule.
STARTING LESSONS & PAYMENT
Every new student begins with an initial assessment incorporated into their first teaching session. There is no separate assessment appointment or additional assessment fee.
If the student commences ongoing tuition, this session becomes Lesson 1 and is charged at the applicable Regular Tuition rate.
If the student does not continue into ongoing tuition, the session is treated as a one-off lesson and the applicable Flexible Tuition rate applies.
Other flexible one-off private lessons may also be booked subject to timetable availability and are charged at the applicable Flexible Tuition rate. Payment is required at the time of booking.
To secure a regular weekly lesson time, a completed Credit/Debit Card or Bank Account Payment Authority is required. Lessons are paid in advance according to the agreed payment schedule.
Fortnightly arrangements may occasionally be approved on a case-by-case basis, subject to timetable availability.
Credit card, debit card and bank account payments are processed securely through our payment service provider, Ezidebit. Applicable transaction fees may apply according to the payment method selected.
Where a payment is returned or cannot be processed, any applicable dishonour or processing fee charged by the payment provider will be added to the next payment.
REGULAR TUITION
Where a student commences ongoing tuition, the first teaching session is treated as Lesson 1 at the applicable Regular Tuition rate.
A recurring payment arrangement is then established so subsequent lesson payments remain in advance according to the agreed payment schedule.
Once a recurring lesson arrangement has been established, the same lesson time remains reserved for you each week until you request a change, suspension or cancellation in accordance with these terms.
Lessons and payments continue during school holidays unless you request otherwise. Alien Guitar Secrets closes on public holidays and may close on certain other notified dates.
Lessons affected by an AGS closure will be credited or rescheduled at a mutually agreed time.
RESCHEDULING & ABSENCES
Paid lesson bookings may be rescheduled when more than 24 hours' notice is provided.
Rescheduled lessons are arranged subject to instructor and timetable availability and must be taken within six months of the original booking.
If your regular instructor is unavailable, we may provide a suitable substitute instructor.
If a suitable substitute cannot be arranged, we will notify you and the affected lesson will be credited or rescheduled.
CHANGING OR ENDING TUITION
We require two weeks — equivalent to 10 working days — written notice to suspend, cancel or change a regular recurring lesson arrangement or automated payment schedule.
Where lessons are suspended for more than two consecutive weeks, the recurring lesson time may be released and offered to another student.
Requests to reschedule, suspend, cancel or change lessons must be provided in writing by email.
Simply advising an instructor verbally or by text does not constitute formal notice.
If more than two consecutive payments are declined, Alien Guitar Secrets may suspend or cancel the student's ongoing recurring lesson bookings until the account is resolved.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Australian consumer law.
